Wet Cell Lead Acid Batteries

The Water Loss and Corrosion Problem

Thick plate lead acid batteries are used extensively for applications requiring daily charging, but with charging comes maintenance.

  • Does it seem like you are always watering or replacing lead acid batteries?
  • Would you like to reduce the time spent watering and replacing these expensive batteries?
  • Would you like to get more life out of your batteries (up to 3x)?
  • Would you like to eliminate corrosion and the time wasted cleaning terminals?
  • How about a battery that requires less charging time?

Reduction of water loss means less maintenance, but how can that be done? I have to charge the battery daily...

The Sulfation Problem

The normal chemical processes by which electricity is generated causes sulfate forming on the lead plates. The recharging of the battery reverses this process, but if not properly recharged and in a timely manner, the sulfation will not be completely reversed. When this happens sulfation builds up on the plates. As a result, batteries become harder to charge and seem to hold less of a charge.

At some point, the owner of the battery will give up and scrap the battery for a new one wasting more time and money. But what can be done? Can this battery be revived?
